The Current State of the Ninjago Theme

Hellego! In 2011, Lego released a new theme that was going to be one of the most successful Lego themes of all time. It was called Ninjago, Masters of Spinjitzu.

A part of my personal collection of Ninjago

It was very popular and had their own building sets along with spinner packs to play the Spinjitzu game. The Spinjitzu spinner game was very popular and included playing cards, booster packs, collectible spinners, minifigures and accessories. In 2013, Lego announced they were going to cancel the theme, only to start producing the sets again in 2014.

Since then, Lego has stopped the Spinjitzu element of Ninjago and is only selling building sets which I find is very disappointing. The main part of the Ninjago theme that I really liked was the whole Spinjitzu spinners part. I really liked the game and played it a lot with different people. I really liked the cards and all the different accessories you would get with them. Today, I feel like the Ninjago theme is dead. I think Lego made a huge mistake by "canceling" the theme only to bring it back. I think it is very strange they made this move because the theme was so popular. Today, the theme is far from being as popular as it was before. I do not hear much about the TV series and now Lego is only producing sets that have different vehicles.

I think it's sad to see how a great theme that had lots of success has become so unpopular. I remember going to the Ninjago tour to play Spinjitzu with other Ninjago fans, getting a free spinner pack, getting a medal and a VIP pass. I remember how excited I was to get my hands on the Green Ninja spinner. I loved getting the new cards, a new figure and spinner and getting to play against other people. Spinjitzu was so much fun! Now, the theme has disappeared in a way and I don't think it will ever be the way it was two years ago.

I just felt like sharing my thoughts and feelings on this theme because I loved this theme and I realised a couple weeks ago how I am not hearing much about it. I went on the Lego shop website and realised that the spinners were gone and I found it very disappointing. Please feel free to leave a comment letting me know your feelings about the Ninjago theme today.

Please leave a comment telling me what you think!

If you have not seen my post about my Forrest Gump MOC, you can see it here: http://cdlegoblog.blogspot.ca/2014/02/lego-forrest-gump.html

Lego Forrest Gump

Hellego! I recently watched the Forrest Gump movie for the first time and I loved it! I noticed that there were not many Lego creations of the movie so I decided to make my own. I wanted to represent the most iconic part of the movie. I think the bus stop where he told his story is really a big place in the movie so I chose to represent that!

The movie poster in Lego!

I think it came out to be pretty accurate to the scene. I watched different angles of him sitting on the bench and tried to get every detail possible. The only part that was harder to get was the park you see in the background. But overall, I find the bench with the platform, the wall behind and the Forrest Gump minifigure are very well done!

Check out the video I made explaining in detail the different aspects of the model! I also have an image to compare it.

I hope you like my MOC of Forrest Gump! Please feel free to leave a comment telling me what you think!

New Upcoming Lego Minifigures Online Multiplayer Video Game!

Hellego! As you probably remember, Lego had an MMOG game called Lego Universe that shut down on January 30th, 2012. The game was not popular enough and it costed Lego to much money to keep up. Many Lego fans like me were very disapointed because this was the first MMOG Lego had made and it was very fun. But now, I am very excited to announce that Lego is going to be releasing this summer a new MMOG: Lego Minifigures Online!

This is an online multiplayer game that is going to be based on the Minifigure series. The main story line is about The Stranger, the villan of the game, who is capturing minifigures from all the different worlds. Like most Lego video games, a good part of the game will be about using your creativity and building skills. The game will feature different worlds you can play in like an alien world, medival, pirate, etc.

When you complete different parts of the game, you will be able to earn new minifigures to add to your collection. You can play with each one in the game and each have their own special ability. For example, the DJ will literally drop the beats on enemies!

There is no information yet on whether you will have to pay to play the game or if it will be a Free-To-Play game. But right now, it is possible to sign up for the upcoming beta of the game on the website! http://www.playminifigures.com/en

Yes, there is already a website for the game. It explains the outlines of the game and introduces you to it. In the media section, there are already two videos that you can check out that will give you a glimpse of what the game will look like.

I personally am very excited for this game. I have explored the website and the video trailers and it looks like so much fun. I just hope that this game is going to be Free-To-Play or at least have a free-to-play version ;). What do you think of this upcoming game? Are you excited for it? Leave a comment and share your thoughts!

CD Lego Blog, when are you going to have new stop motions?

Hellego! In the past month, I have been receiving a couple of comments and messages asking me when I am going to have a new stop motion out. The situation right now is a bit complicated so I wanted to take the time and clearly explain why it has been three months since the last stop motion.

Lego Hobbit - Dol Guldur Ambush set review

Hellego and welcome to another review! The set I will be reviewing is a new 2014 Lego Hobbit set! The set I will be reviewing is #79011, Dol Guldur Ambush! This is a great set and I want to show you everything there is to know about this model so that you can decide whether or not you should get it.

In this set we get three awesome minifigure: two Gundabad Orcs and Beorn. This set also has a lot of playability features like a catapult, traps and flick fire missiles!

Here is a hidden trap that you can open to fire a missile!

In the inside there are two traps you can activate to keep people from entering!

Not only does this set have great playability features, it is also very nicely designed and looks great to display. I particularly like the front section with the tree and torch.

Here is the full video review of this set. Enjoy!
